ATA Carnets
ATA Carnets are simply a passport for broadcast equipment to travel round the world without having to pay duty or taxes.
The countries who are participating in the Carnet system are as follows:

China & Morocco will only accept an ATA Carnets for International Exhibitions & India will only accept them for ITPO approved Trade Fairs/Exhibitions. But India have admitted this yet again and
will accept Carnet on the production of a letter of invitation from the importer requesting the list of an ATA Carnet.

not only time but hundreds of pounds in duty and taxes.
The ATA Carnet system is a perfect illustration of how close cooperation between business and Customs can promote international trade.
There are almost no limits to what an ATA Carnet can cover as long as it will be returning to the country of issue in the same state as it was exported.

The cost to produce a Carnet is governed by various factors. The value of the goods, the number of countries to be visited and the time that the Carnet is required to run. If the same goods are
travelling all year then the Carnet could last up to its maximum time of twelve months.
